How do leed regional priority credits work. Regional Priority Credits This credit is worth 1-4 points. Regional Priority credits are existing prerequisites or credits in the rating system that have been selected by USGBC Chapters and Regions as especially important in their area. The USGBC web site has a listing of the priority credits for each region of the United States.

You enter your projects zipcode when you register in LEED Online and the system automatically credits you with a bonus point when you earn a credit that is designated as a regional priority credit for your zip code up to four bonus. LEED is now beginning to recognize contextual differences between project locations. Regional Priority Credits provide the incentive for a LEED-registered building to pursue the credits and will address the issues that are most pertinent to its environment.

Regional Priority Credit LEED projects span the entire globe. They exist in different climate zones and in different population densities and they have different water and energy availabilities and different local problems to deal with. A credit may be much easier to achieve for a project in location A than a project in location B.

Regional Priority Credits RPCs are extra points that can be achieved on a project seeking LEED certification. They consist of existing credits that USGBC chapters and regional councils have designated as being of particular importance for their areas. Each specific area referenced by ZIP code has six RPCs per rating system.

Six regional priority credits RPC determined by regional councils and chapters are eligible for the regionalism weight and organizations can earn four bonus points in the RPC category. When registering a project LEED Online automatically selects RPCs based on the projects ZIP code. The v4 Regional Priority Credits do display in LEED Online for v4 registered project teams.

How do Regional Priority RP credits work. Projects registered but not yet certified under V22 can be transferred into V3 to earn the RPCs. If a project accumulates enough credits to fulfill more than four of the regional point requirements project leaders may choose which four credits will count towards the regional priority credits.

Regional credits are not different from the credits for any particular LEED rating system. The number of points a project earns determines the level of LEED certification it receives. There are four levels of certification.
